Non-dairy Bread Pudding

This is a non-dairy dessert that is excellent for people who cannot have dairy products. This is a very comforting dessert. Excellent served during the winter months. It is great for serving at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Bread pudding recipes may differ with their flavors and sauces. Bread pudding may be served hot, warm, or cold. This dessert may easily be reheated in the microwave. This dessert only takes 10 minutes to prepare and 30 minutes to cook. Bread pudding is a very popular dessert and you will often find it being served in restaurants. Bread pudding is reallly easy to make and less time consuming than most desserts.

This recipe will make about 8 servings. You may add to the recipe by making a sauce to go with the bread pudding. It will be delicious served with a non-dairy ice cream. Even kids will enjoy this dessert. It will pack easy in lunch boxes and is great for taking along for a picnic. Sometimes bread pudding is made with stale bread. Caution, make sure the bread is not molded. Bread pudding contains a good amount of iron. Homemade desserts are healthier because they do not contain all the preservatives. Fruit such as pineapple makes bread pudding much more tastier. Some people prefer to add pecans or walnuts for a nutty flavor. That is what is so nice about this dessert is that it may be made with most foods that you already have on hand. Lemon sauces are commonly served with bread puddings. Bread puddings are delicious served with a hot beverage such as coffee. You will surely get a lot of compliments from serving this delicious dessert. 6 cups of bread, cut into 1 inch pieces

1/2 cup of raisins

2 1/2 cups of soy milk

1 tablespoon of vanilla

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/2 cup of sugar


1. Spray a casserole dish with cooking spray.

2. Place the bread and raisins in the casserole dish.

3. In a mixing bowl, combine the soy milk, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.

4. Pour the mixture the top of the bread and raisins.

5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
